Plan Your Wedding

We are pleased to share the following information to assist you with planning your Barnsley Resort wedding. There are many details to consider when planning a milestone occasion. Allow our team of experts to guide you through the process so you can focus on celebrating with family and friends.

Venue Reservations
Venues are typically reserved four hours prior to ceremony start time, and six hours prior to reception start time to allow ample time for setup. We do not limit the time or duration of your ceremony and reception. However, all outdoor receptions must end at 11:00 p.m. due to a local noise ordinance.


Wedding Rehearsal
Wedding packages for 100 guests or more include a one-hour rehearsal the day before the wedding. The location and time will be determined by your Wedding Catering Manager 30 days prior to your wedding date.

Inclement Weather
It is the responsibility of the wedding couple to reserve a budgetary allowance to allow for inclement weather when reserving an outdoor venue. This could include tents, heaters and misting fans to provide for the comfort of you and your guests. Indoor space may be held as an alternative to an outdoor ceremony or reception for up to 150 guests in certain seasons and over selected dates.


Preferred Vendors

We offer a carefully curated list of preferred vendors we recommend with the utmost confidence. Each of these professionals has provided services for multiple weddings at the resort, and is familiar with our unique location and requirements for hosting events at Barnsley Resort. Our preferred vendor list is included at the end of this packet. You may find it helpful to contact them as you prepare for your total budget. All food and beverage, with the exception of wedding cakes, must be purchased through Barnsley Resort.


Non-Preferred Vendors

If you choose, you may work with your own vendors. Each non-preferred vendor will be required to provide a certificate of liability before providing services at the resort.


Wedding Catering Managers

Once your signed Wedding Agreement is received, our Wedding Catering Managers will be assigned to your event. They are available to assist you with planning the event details related to food and beverage, event layouts (excluding personal guest diagrams), audio-visual needs and other details of the event. Wedding catering managers can also recommend resort contacts to assist with making arrangements for spa, golf and other activities.


Guest Room Reservations

Upon receipt of the signed Wedding Agreement, our Wedding Guest Room Coordinator will be available to make overnight reservations for your wedding group. She will advise you of deposit and cancellation details to ensure your group’s needs are met in advance. This expert will also be able to guide you in reserving the best accommodations for your guests’ needs, from individual rooms and suites to larger Estate Cottages offering up to seven bedrooms.


Wedding Planner and/or Day of Coordinator

We highly recommend choosing a dedicated Wedding Planner and/or Coordinator to assist you with your planning and details including menu selection, setup, timeline and vendor selection. On the day of the wedding, the planner/coordinator is responsible for vendor management and coordinating the processional (ceremony and rehearsal). In addition, your planner/coordinator will keep the festivities on schedule by prompting speeches or toasts, significant dances and cake cutting. They will also assist with personal items on the day of the wedding such as favors, table cards, programs, personal photos and treasured heirlooms. It is this person’s responsibility to gather any personal items at the end of the reception. We have included a list of preferred planners and coordinators included in our Preferred Vendors list.


Wedding Guest Transportation

Barnsley Resort is a pedestrian-friendly resort. Most locations are no more than a leisurely five minute walk from the center of the village. For your wedding ceremony and reception, our wedding packages include shuttle service for all on and off-site guests. Our open-air tram makes stops at the parking lot as well as the Beer Garden and The Woodlands Grill, scheduled to allow your guests to arrive to your event on time. The tram is also available after the event to transport your guests back to their cottages and vehicles.



Barnsley Resort is known as one of the most pet-friendly resorts in the Southeast. We offer several pet-friendly accommodations and welcome your four-legged friend to participate in your festivities.


Venue Space and Date Reservation

A contract and deposit are required to reserve space for your wedding. Upon receipt of the contract, you have seven (7) days to review and confirm the event(s) by forwarding a signed contract and deposit, or release the space.


Deposit and Billing

A non-refundable deposit is due when confirming the event. Sixty (60) days prior to the event, 50% of the estimated charges are due. Thirty (30) days prior to the event, the remaining estimated charges are due. Fourteen (14) days prior to the event, all remaining estimated charges will be calculated and due. It’s important to note that these payments are estimates only. Your FINAL BILL WILL BE SENT TO YOU AFTER YOUR EVENT. Any charges incurred from the last estimate until after the event will be calculated by our Accounting Office and billed accordingly. A credit card must be given at the time of contracting that will be used for the final bill.


Menu Tasting

A menu tasting is included with all wedding packages. We recommend the tasting coincide with your planning appointment scheduled 90-120 days prior to the wedding. Tastings must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance. If you are interested in a tasting, please contact your Wedding Catering Manager to schedule.


Wedding Tasting Guidelines: 

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2:00 to 4:00 pm only 
  • Up to 4 guests complimentary (including wedding couple)
  • Up to 8 items selected from menu
  • Additional guests charged at $60 per person
  • Maximum of 8 guests.
