Teams & Roles

Whether an experienced hospitality professional or new to the industry, it’s helpful to know the structure of the many diverse departments where our colleagues serve our guests and one another at Barnsley Resort.

Our accounting department oversees all financial transactions such as accounts payable and receivable as well as payroll. In addition, human resources and IT (information technology) fall into the accounting department to keep the resort running smoothly.

Our guests expect exceptional cuisine when dining in our restaurants or at one of our special events such as weddings. Our culinary team includes prep cooks, line cooks, sous chefs, chef de cuisines, banquets chefs, and our executive chef.

Food & Beverage
Our food & beverage team includes hosts, servers, server assistants, bartenders and supervisory roles in our three restaurants (The Woodlands Grill, Rice House and Beer Garden) as well as providing seasonal food and beverage service poolside. Our banquets department includes servers, bartenders and housemen who set up our meetings and other special events such as weddings.

The Fazio Course is an award-winning, par 72 golf course that spans more than 378 acres of rolling hillsides and forests. Our golf team includes cart barn attendants, golf shop and golf professionals. Grounds Care and maintenance of our historic gardens, resort village landscaping and golf course maintenance all support the grounds department.

Guest Services
Our guest services colleagues often provide the first welcome to guests when they arrive at the resort. This team includes gate house attendants, bell staff and guests services/front desk agents.

One of the most important roles in any hotel or resort is housekeeping, responsible for daily cleaning and turndown service for each of our guest rooms and suites as well as many of our public areas. Room attendants, housemen/women, and supervisors contribute to this vital part of providing the Barnsley Resort experience.

A talented and experienced maintenance team includes painters and engineers with various specialties to ensure our award-winning resort is maintained to the level our guests expect at Barnsley Resort.

With almost 3,000 acres of North Georgia’s natural playground at our disposal, our recreation team supports our extensive outdoor activities programs. Sporting clays trappers, fly fishing instructors, hunting guides, trail guides and equestrian guides (wranglers) deliver some of our most popular experiences. In addition, activities coordinators oversee team-building programs and other special activities.

The reservations department is responsible for making overnight room reservations, dining reservations and activity reservations for leisure, group, wedding guests and day visitors. Telephone operators (PBX) are also part of the reservations team, providing a warm first impression to callers.

With a variety of retail options offering the finest apparel, gift items and specialty sporting equipment, our retail specialists are responsible for the sales and management of Addie’s Boutique and SpringBank Sporting Club.

Sales & Marketing
Our sales & marketing team includes group sales, weddings, conference services and marketing.

The Spa at Barnsley Resort offers a tranquil respite with a menu of services including massages, facials and body treatments. Beauty services include manicures, pedicures, hair and makeup. Licensed massage therapists, aestheticians and cosmetologists are trained experts who perform these services for our guests. In addition, spa coordinators make appointments and check guests in and out for their treatments at the spa desk.
