Celebrate the joy of connecting – and cooking – over an open flame during a Fire to Fork Labor Day weekend featuring Sea Island Forge.
During an intimate, hands-on cooking school, guests have the exclusive opportunity to learn to cook over a signature Sea Island Forge fire kettle with Steve Schoettle, founder and expert blacksmith, and Barnsley Resort culinary experts. A festive oyster roast, pizza from the new wood-burning pizza oven and plenty of live music round out this interactive, social weekend.

Experience the joy of cooking and gathering around an open-fire during an exclusive, immersive class hosted by Steve Schoettle, founder of Sea Island Forge, and a Barnsley Resort chef (and fire cooking enthusiast). For the ultimate open-fire experience, purchase your own Fire Kettle and learn the tips and tricks of cooking over an open flame along with demos of Sea Island Forge's complete line of fire cooking tools and accessories. Guests may purchase a 30- or 50-gallon fire kettle package in advance including fire kettle and stand, twisted poker and shipping to Barnsley Resort or your home.

Indulge in fresh-roasted oysters from the Sea Island Forge fire kettles and barbeque from our smoker along with live music in the casual, outdoor setting of the Beer Garden. Enhance the experience with the latest oyster shucker available from Sea Island Forge, launching during this event. Award-winning From the Earth Brewing Company, based in Roswell, is on site to sample and talk all things beer!
Beer and other beverages are available a la carte.

With more than 25 years of culinary experience at world-class resorts and upscale restaurants, Javier Cuesta is the Executive Chef at Barnsley Resort.
Throughout his career, Chef Cuesta has been recognized as a visionary chef and is known as an expert in culinary arts trends. His global experience in Pennsylvania, St. Lucia, Portugal and more complements Barnsley Resort’s Southern charm. Originally from Spain, Chef Cuesta completed his formal culinary training in Paris where he earned a degree in French gastronomy from the Ritz Paris.
Steve and Sandy Schoettle
With respective backgrounds in construction, custom furniture, photography and art, Steve and Sandy Schoettle envisioned a business that combined their artistic talents, business savvy and creativity with their passion for entertaining and travel. Today, the Schoettles and their talented team of artisans are building just that – a line of masterfully crafted legacy pieces that focus on bringing together family and friends. Outdoor gatherings around a roaring fire and simple, meaningful traditions are the cornerstone of the Sea Island Forge lifestyle and one they hope to share with you.
