Reservations Policies
The Fine Print
As you’re planning your stay at Barnsley Resort, here are a few details to note about your reservation, payments, pets, gratuities and cancellations.
Deposit & Cancellation Policy
A credit card deposit equal to 50% of the room, taxes and resort fee for your entire stay will be taken at the time of reservation. The remaining balance of room/package charges will be applied to the credit card on file on the day of arrival.
Due to our size and location, cancellations affect us significantly. Therefore we adhere to a strict cancellation policy:
Reservations for Rooms, Suites and Arbor Cottages may be canceled without charge up until 14 days prior to arrival. Reservations canceled less than 14 days prior to arrival will result in a forfeiture of the deposit. (Policy excludes reservations booked on non-refundable Advance Purchase offer.)
Reservations for multi-bedroom cottages (Wheaton, Red House, Julia, Fugger, Adelaide, Kingston, Godfrey and all Manor Cottages) may be canceled without charge up until 30 days prior to arrival. Reservations canceled less than 30 days prior to arrival will result in a forfeiture of the deposit. (Policy excludes reservations booked on non-refundable Advance Purchase offer.)
The deposit may not be transferred to a future date. However, you are welcome to send a friend or family member in your place.
Payment
Barnsley Resort is a cashless property. Available payment options include credit/debit cards, guest room or member account charges. The following major credit cards are accepted:
- American Express
- Discover Card
- Master Card
- Visa
Cash and personal checks are not accepted.
Arrival & Departure Times
Check-in time begins at 3 p.m. Checkout ends at 11 a.m. Luggage pick-up and storage is available for guests who wish to enjoy the property before arrival or after checkout.
We cannot grant an early check-in in advance. If you require an early check-in you may reserve your room for the evening prior to guarantee room availability.
We cannot grant a late checkout in advance. If you require a late checkout, one may be granted on the day of departure at the discretion of the Front Office management or staff on duty. Fees may be assessed for late checkouts.
Maximum Occupancy & Extra Person Charges
Barnsley Resort does not offer rollaway bedding. Please reserve accommodation types with the appropriate occupancy limits. For larger parties, please reserve multiple accommodations. The maximum number of overnight guests per room is limited to 2 adults per bed and 1 adult or 2 children per sleeper sofa.
Sleepers sofas are available in a limited number of Cottage Suites and Arbor Cottages. Please inquire about sleeper sofas at time of reservation as availability is not guaranteed without advance notice.
Pack and plays may be provided at no additional charge, based on availability.
For Reservations Using Gift Certificates
A credit card deposit equal to $50 per night reserved will be taken at the time of reservation. Cancellations not made in accordance with the Cancellation Policy above will result in a forfeiture of deposit.
Please remember to bring your gift certificate with you, as this is your method of payment for the items it includes. If no certificate is presented as payment, room charges will be assessed at the prevailing rate at the time of the stay. Lost or mislaid certificates cannot be replaced or redeemed. Also, please read your certificate closely to ensure it is valid for the dates you have reserved.
Packages
All package components (spa, horseback riding, golf, etc.) must be reserved in advance. No refunds will be given for package components due to lack of availability. Alcoholic beverages and additional gratuities are not included in package meals.
Pet Friendly: Applicable Fees
At Barnsley Resort, pets are treated as valuable members of our guests’ families! Up to two (2) pets are permitted to stay with their owners in Manor Rooms and Cottages, Cottage Suites and Arbor Cottages as well as the Red House, Wheaton Cottage and Fugger Cabin. A non-refundable pet fee of $195 or $295 will be charged for each accommodation occupied by a pet, depending on cottage type.
A fee of $300–$800 per night will be charged for guests with pets in accommodations designated as Pet Free. While guests may be relocated to a Pet Friendly accommodation, any increase in room rate will be the responsibility of the guest. If there is no Pet Friendly room available or the guest refuses to change rooms, they may be asked to leave the property
Smoking
All resort accommodations are smoke free. A fee of $300–$800 per night will be charged to guests in violation of our No Smoking policy.
No Outside Food & Beverages
No outside food and beverages are permitted outside of personal accommodations in accordance with the resort’s Food and Beverage Serving Licenses. This covers all restaurants, event venues, and outdoor spaces. No outside catering is permitted in any area of Barnsley Resort, including accommodations. For hospitality or catering needs, our conference services and event team is available to assist.
Kitchens & Wet Bars
Select Estate Cottages feature an expanded wet bar, or pantry kitchen. These kitchens contain refrigerators, microwaves and ice machines, but no other cooking appliances. All other accommodations feature a wet bar and mini-refrigerator with coffee/tea service for your convenience. No personal cooking or use of personal cooking appliances or grills are permitted in or outside of accommodations to ensure fire safety. Microwaves are available upon request (based upon availability), with a $30 nightly fee. No outside food and beverage is allowed in accordance with our food and beverage serving licenses. For hospitality catering or private events, please allow our catering team to assist you.
Activity Policies
All activity and spa reservations require a minimum of 24 hours notice for cancellations. All outdoor activities will take place in the event of light rain. Cancellations within 24 hours or failure to appear on the day of the activity or spa treatment will result in a 100% charge for activities/services scheduled.
Group activity, spa and hunting cancellation policies may vary.
Additional Charges & Gratuity Policy
Meals, lounge charges, activities, services and merchandise are additional unless specified in promotion or package offer.
All accommodations are subject to a $50 per room, per night taxable resort fee.
Service charges are automatically added to the following items:
- A la carte food and beverages (20%)
- Spa Services (20%)
- All other gratuities are at the discretion of the guest
