Pet Friendly

Where Vacation is For Everyone in the Family

It’s hard to go off on an adventure and leave a beloved family member behind. Barnsley Resort isn’t just a pet-friendly resort. With more than 3,000 acres of rolling North Georgia Hills, mystical forested trails, historic grounds and gardens and cozy fires, it’s made for enjoying and exploring with our furry best friends. Pets are not only welcome here, they’re well loved.

Where to Stay

Pet-friendly accommodations include select cottage suites and multi-room cottages in our charming cottage village. Pets are not allowed in the rooms and suites in the Inn at Barnsley Resort and some cottages. Bring up to two (2) pets to stay with you so you can all enjoy the magic you can only find here.

Crew LaLa x Barnsley Resort & Other Amenities

Did somebody say treat? Dog treats and our signature exclusive Crew LaLa x Barnsley Resort seasonal bandana are included with the pet fee (maximum two bandanas per stay). Crew LaLa creates stylish, handmade bow tie and belle bow collars, bandanas, leashes and more for pets from their home in Charleston, South Carolina, and have been featured by Southern Living and on The Today Show. If you love them as much as we do, you can also purchase Crew LaLa collars and leashes at the Outpost.

Where to Play

Hiking, rolling, snuggling and playing. There are more than 10 miles of hiking trails made for roaming, beautiful gardens to amble through, 3,000 glorious acres for endless walks and adventures and outdoor gathering spaces with fire pits and lawn games when it’s time to lie down. You can even bring your furry friend for outdoor dining on the front porch of Woodlands or at the Biergarten on weekends. It’s hard to say who will enjoy Barnsley Resort more, you or your pet. Be prepared for them to feel right at home.

A mandatory one-time (per stay) non-refundable pet fee of $195 (or $295 for multi-bedroom cottages) applies. There are no pet weight limits at Barnsley Resort. While we do not require pets to be crated, all dogs must stay on leashes. All of our public areas are open to pets, with the exception of the spa, fitness center, pool area and indoor restaurants (due to local health codes).

Service Animal Friends

Barnsley Resort follows the ADA (American Disabilities Act) definition of service animals. If traveling with a service animal, it must be under the handler's control at all times and may not be left unattended at any time. Emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals are not considered service animals according to the ADA and will be subject to all policies and fees associated with non-service animals.

Local Support

We know all animals aren't as lucky as our four-legged resort guests. In honor of our pet-friendly nature, we make a quarterly donation to the Etowah Valley Humane Society which provides humane treatment for animals in need.
